Hey everybody! I was really excited to do my second post today, and I have some news! Now, with Christmas coming up, it’s the time of year when we usually get new additions to the family. Just in case we do, we need to know who. And . . . we can’t decide. Help! Here’s what we were thinking: A historical doll, before it retires, a My American Girl doll that would be from the modern world, or a MAG doll with her own historical story. (I would write it!) What do you think? Comment or email me ASAP, Christmas is only 9 days away! Below are the lists and pictures of the more specific choices.
Julie Albright / The 70s Girl:

Now, you may be wondering why there’s 3 pictures. Our family's been doing our research on Julie, and we’ve discovered that many people say her hair comes out easily and when it rips, you can see the difference in her hair lengths. This might not bother some people, but, I think it would bother me. Also, I personally think that her face mold is really kind of plain. The doll in the middle looks similar to Julie and her hair is probably better, so that’s why she’s an option. I also really like the doll on the far right, but I can’t think of what role she would fit, so why not make her the 70s girl? We really love Julie’s time period and her clothes, but the actual doll is the issue. Which one do you think is the best? Do you have any of these dolls? If so, please do give reviews, that would help a lot! If you don’t, still, please give your opinion!
The Other Historical Dolls:

I love the diversity of these 4, and they are the only other historical dolls that aren’t in our family, but I can’t decide which one I like most. Kaya doesn’t have very many sets. Do you think it would be worth it to get her, and have her possibly not go along with any of the other doll’s stories? I really love her sets though! Josefina I wouldn’t see a problem with. I’m not sure about Addy. I love her hairstyle and hair texture, but I’m not sure if I would like it once the hairstyle gets to messy. Do any of you have her? How do you like her hair? We were also considering getting another doll that looks similar to her, but with different hair. What do you think? Would that be better and easier? Lastly, I like Rebecca, but she is still fairly new to the historical doll collection and probably won’t retire very soon. Also, I was thinking about changing her name. Do you have any name ideas? Please comment your thoughts! They’d be really helpful!
Modern Dolls:

Next, there’s the modern dolls. The one on the left would be Saige Copeland’s cousin, for whom I’m considering the name Arizona, thanks to the advice of a reader - Thank you so much Abigail! Arizona would write music, play instruments, and sing, with a gift for the arts, much like her cousin, Saige. Then there’s Dakota, Lanie’s best friend who spent some time living in an Indonesian rainforest with her parents. I think she looks perfect for a nature loving girl, and she has the perfect tan! Her hair looks hard to care for though. What do you think? In addition to these 2 dolls, I need to find a friend for Kanani. Should we get a cousin Rachel, or a BFF Celina? Comment!
The Twins!!!:

Lastly, some of you may have seen a previous post on the Doll Advice page. If not, feel free to check it out. Anyways, I was considering getting a blonde and this brunette with the same hair type and eye color, to be twins! I think I came up with a better idea, though. This girl and a boy doll! I would get 2 of the doll above and re-wig the boy doll with shorter hair. They would be 2 sporty twins whose parents died in an accident, and all they have is each other. (I know it’s kind of sad, but its interesting, so it works) What do you think of that idea?
